About Rob's Detector Sales
Rob's Detector Sales is the business of Rob Allison, a nugget hunter who sells from Surprise, northwest of Phoenix, through his website and by phone. He carries Minelab's certified gold trainer badge and posts nugget hunts on YouTube under the name Nuggethunting.
The stock leans toward gold. Besides detectors from Minelab, Garrett, XP, Nokta, Makro, Fisher and Tesoro, there is a long list of aftermarket coils from Coiltek, Nugget Finder and Detech for the pulse induction machines most nugget hunters use, plus headphones and signal boosters, pinpointers, magnets for picks, scoops and digging tools, panning kits, smelting and refining supplies, research software, books and maps. Used and discontinued gear has its own section.
Letters from customers on his site describe long phone calls before a purchase, lessons in the field, and first nuggets found on outings with him. The site also runs a community forum where buyers and other prospectors trade notes.
There is no shop to walk into; Surprise is a mailing address. Orders go through the website or by phone, Monday to Saturday on Arizona time.
