About Gold Fever Prospecting

Gold Fever Prospecting is the online store of Motherlode Outfitters, a family business based in Henderson, on the southeast edge of the Las Vegas Valley. It has been selling prospecting gear since 2003 and works almost entirely by mail order: there is no walk-in shop, and the office in Henderson opens only by appointment.

The catalog covers the whole placer workflow. For classifying and panning there are pans, panning kits, classifiers, screens and sieves; for moving more dirt there are sluice boxes, highbankers, power sluices and suction dredges from Keene. For the dry ground that covers most of Nevada it stocks drywashers, including Royal and Gold Buddy models, and for the last step it sells fine-gold recovery gear such as spiral wheel concentrators and black sand concentrators. Picks, shovels and rakes, metal detectors and a shelf of prospecting books and videos complete the range.

The shop is also known for its paydirt: bags of panning concentrates with real gold in them, sold for practice or as gifts. It sells natural gold nuggets from the western USA, Alaska, British Columbia and the Yukon, and buys nuggets too. Its site keeps a long list of free placer tips and field stories written with beginners in mind.

Orders ship by US Priority Mail or UPS Ground, usually within two to ten business days, and most orders sent outside Nevada carry no sales tax.
