About Mohave Prospectors Association

The Mohave Prospectors Association is a Kingman club for gold prospecting and metal detecting, active since the late 1990s. Its members hold placer claims in Mohave County that run from near Lake Havasu up to Meadview, in country where both gold and meteorites turn up, and the club trades claim access with other clubs.

The club renews its claims with the BLM every year; the payment that keeps them valid through 2026 went in during August 2025. Membership is open to adults, and gives access to the claims and to a members' area of the website with the club's internal documents.

Meetings are on the first Tuesday of the month at 7 pm at College Park Community Church, 1990 E Jagerson Ave. The club also goes out to the public: at the Mohave County Gemstoners' show in May 2026 its members ran gold panning demonstrations, where anyone could try a pan of gold-bearing dirt.
