About Flagstaff Rock Shop

Flagstaff Rock Shop calls itself the smallest rock shop in Arizona, and the building backs the claim up. Owner Greg Horn started it in a space not much bigger than a shed, after a conversation with a close friend convinced him he could begin small.

What the size hides is the range. The shelves are packed with crystals and mineral specimens, fossils, Arizona rocks, polished stones and rough for lapidary work, along with wire-wrapped jewelry and Native American jewelry. Visitors' reviews keep returning to the same two points: pieces of every size, from collector specimens to small affordable stones, and an owner who takes the time to answer questions, children's included.

The shop is on US 89 at the northeast edge of Flagstaff, on the route north toward Sunset Crater and Wupatki, an easy stop on the way to or from the volcanic field. Greg Horn also shows new stock and finds on TikTok.
