About GPAA Apache Junction Chapter

The Apache Junction chapter of the Gold Prospectors Association of America serves the East Valley of Phoenix. It was started around 2016 by GPAA members who were tired of driving sixty miles or more to reach the Phoenix chapter, among them prospectors who lived as far east as Thatcher.

Today it has about 60 members. The chapter meets on the second Sunday of the month at American Legion Post 27, 1018 S Meridian Rd in Apache Junction; the GPAA asks visitors to confirm the time and place with the chapter, and news goes out on its Facebook group.

Its members don't work alone. When the Phoenix chapter asked for hands in June 2019 to clean up the Soldier Boy and Double J claims, the Apache Junction group turned out with them.

For East Valley prospectors the point of the chapter is simple: a monthly meeting close to home instead of an hour on the freeway, and partners for trips out to the association's claims.
