About Royal Manufacturing Ind

Royal Manufacturing Industries builds drywashers, sluices and small powered gear in a production facility of more than 23,000 square feet in Santa Ana, and sells it from a 1,000-square-foot showroom at the same address, about ten miles south of Disneyland. Every item is on display there, including scratched or dented pieces sold at a discount. The company says its owner is a prospector himself and that it holds 60 acres of gold claims in the Southern California desert under a plan of operation, where it can run heavy equipment and test what it makes. Robert, the CEO, has worked with metal for 30 years, learning from his father and at Supreme Engineering, and the plant runs CNC laser cutting, a 7-axis press brake and a punching machine it counts among the largest on the West Coast. The same company runs a separate sheet metal fabrication business.

Royal sells the Royal King as the largest-capacity drywasher manufactured in the USA. Its 40 x 27-inch hopper is fully enclosed so big rocks cannot slip under the classifier and jam the flow valve; the machine stands 56 inches tall, weighs 49 pounds, is held together by 143 rivets, and has silicone insulators on the recovery-box chains so the static charge builds faster and lasts. The Royal Gold Large, field tested in the March/April 2013 Gold Prospectors Magazine, has a 10 x 24-inch recovery box, a hopper with three feeding angles, combination riffles laser cut from one piece of steel and a baffled first riffle against blowing out ultra-fine gold. A patent-pending part called the Tickler goes into the recovery box to keep it from clogging.

The company's signature piece is what it calls the original self-locking folding sluice box, patent 8,322,536, of which it says more than 30,000 have sold: .063-inch aluminum, 50 by 9 inches, folding to 15 inches to fit a 5-gallon bucket, with eight zinc-plated steel riffles over deep V-ribbed rubber, at 7.25 pounds. A dredge-ready hopper turns the 10-inch-wide Ultra-Wide sluice into a highbanker, with two adjustable spray bars and a grizzly set to three angles from clay to gravel, ready for a 2-inch dredge adapter. The Royal Gold Mini highbanker takes full shovel loads on an 800 GPH pump and becomes a recirculator with a 30-gallon tub. The 12-volt trommel kit sprays from the outside in to knock loose lodged rocks, turns a 14-gauge stainless screen with 3/8-inch holes and feeds its own 7 x 31-inch sluice. For cleanup, the Miller table is rated by Royal to catch 600 and 800 mesh gold from material classified to 12 mesh.

Small details get attention too: sluice stands are TIG welded all the way around, and pick heads cut from quarter-inch abrasion-resistant plate are heat treated to Rockwell 50, then baked for 24 hours after plating against hydrogen embrittlement. Orders are processed in 1 to 2 business days; Royal ships within the continental United States and asks other buyers to call. Parts proven defective in material or workmanship are repaired or replaced if reported within 30 days of shipment, and the trommel unit has a one-year warranty. In California, a highbanker or trommel fed with gravel dug from a streambed or its banks counts as a suction dredge under the 2016 law; material that never came from a stream, such as a dry bench, is outside that definition.
