American Opal Society
Club devoted to opal and the lapidary arts, for collectors, cutters and anyone curious about opal. Meets on the third Thursday of each month at the Anaheim Downtown Community Center, 250 E. Center St., Anaheim (social at 6:30 PM, meeting at 7 PM). Members go on opal and mineral collecting field trips in California, Nevada and Arizona; the club publishes the Opal Express newsletter and free opal cutting guides, and holds its annual Opal, Gem & Jewelry Show in Orange every fall (the 56th in 2026).
