Rock and mineral club established in the early 1960s. Meets on the second Monday of each month at 7:30 PM in the Multipurpose Room of the Veterans Memorial Complex, 4117 Overland Ave., Culver City. Field trips to collecting areas and mines (in October 2026 Castle Butte and Brown Butte in the Mojave), its own lapidary shop with silversmithing workshops, the monthly Nugget newsletter and the free Fiesta of Gems show every June.
Around here, the land is mostly private
Within 50 miles of Culver City our maps show no open public land to prospect. That is exactly why a club matters here: clubs have the landowner permissions, the leases and the know-how.
Nearest open public land on our gem and mineral map: about 57 miles away.
