About T-Rocks in Quartzsite
T-Rocks bills itself as the largest rock yard in Quartzsite, a town where rock yards line the main road. Most of the stock sits outdoors in barrels, bins and piles, with a shop building for the smaller and more delicate pieces.
It is a place for people who work stone. Lapidary rough is sorted by type, agate, jasper, quartz and fossil rock, next to slabs of agate and jasper and rough for tumbling and carving. Flintknappers get their own section, with glass and rough rock for knapping and heat-treated rough and slabs that flake more cleanly.
For collectors there are mineral specimens, including calcite, fluorescent minerals and rare-earth minerals, geodes, petrified wood, plant, invertebrate and vertebrate fossils, and meteorites and tektites.
