Gem World is a winter store. It opens on Main Street in Quartzsite from mid-October to mid-April, the months when the town's gem and mineral shows and its winter visitors are in full swing, and the company has been in the jewelry and stone trade for more than 20 years.
The stock is broad rather than specialized: geodes, crystal clusters and points, amethyst and citrine, pyrite, agate, petrified wood, orthoceras and other fossils, freeforms, palm stones, bowls and carvings, plus a large bead and findings section for jewelry makers and sterling silver and fashion jewelry. It sells retail in the store and in bulk to other shops.
