About History Seekers Metal Detectors

History Seekers is a metal detector dealer run by people who hunt with the machines they sell. Its founder, Heath Jones, started detecting in the early 1990s and is best known as a relic hunter. After a career in law enforcement he spent close to nine years managing a well-known detector retailer, working with the manufacturers and testing prototype machines before they reached the public, and then set up his own business.

In 2019 he started the History Seekers channels on YouTube and Facebook to film his hunts, and the Facebook page now has more than a million followers. In June 2026 a second channel, Just Beyond the Grave, began showing ground-penetrating radar work that finds and marks lost and unmarked graves. The shop is explicit that this side is non-invasive: nothing is dug, and no detecting is done in cemeteries.

There is no shop floor to visit. The business sells from Heflin, in Cleburne County, through its website and by phone, and it is an authorized dealer for Minelab, Garrett, XP, Nokta, Fisher, Teknetics, Bounty Hunter, Coiltek and CKG. For gold hunters the range covers dedicated nugget machines such as the Minelab GPZ line and the Gold Monster, crossover detectors, and the Gold Cube system for catching fine gold, next to coils, pinpointers, headphones and digging tools.

Buyers are invited to call before ordering and talk the choice through with a detectorist rather than a call center. Open-box units, closeouts and trade-ins are listed next to new stock, and orders ship inside the United States.
