The San Diego County chapter of the Gold Prospectors Association of America, for gold prospecting and metal detecting. Meetings on the first Wednesday of each month at 6:30 PM at the Escondido Knights of Columbus hall, 515 W Valley Parkway, Escondido. The club runs monthly metal detecting mornings and outings, including its BB1 gold claim in the Big Bear area during the mountain season, often together with the Temecula and Hemet chapters. Website: treasureseekersofsandiego.org. On the gem and mineral side, the club has a gem and mineral chair, runs rock and mineral outings and holds gem and mineral drawings at meetings.
